i wanna be somebodywho's good enoughto be seen with you
[/font] The sun was shining bright, causing a glow to be seen in the room as Annamarie, lying on her stomache, picked at her nails. She let out a sigh. It looked like a perfect day, but she knew better. Though she couldn't see the ground from her second floor window, she knew what was there. There was a layer of snow on the ground that was mostly melted, but still there. She was in the mood for a walk in the park, for a dunk at the pool, for something more than lying on her bed. She was insanely comfortable, yes, but that was something she was so often. There was no use in the day if you were just going to waste it sitting around and being comfortable. Her thoughts trailed off until they were nothing but little bits and pieces and she found her mind blank. "That can't be," she muttered to herself, finally filling her head back up with nonsense. Annamarie wasn't much of a fan of silence.
She spent two hours lying there on her bed doing nothing. A perfect waste of a Saturday - her favorite day of the week. She had woken up, ate breakfast, went to her dance show, came home, put on her pajamas and just lied there for a good two hours. Sure enough the sun was beginning to set and she was hungry once more despite how much she ate after her show. Annamarie still didn't want to move. She eyed her guitar. Maybe she'd write a song. Nah. She had no muse. She thought about going to the piano in the next room, but that was the same as playing the guitar. Maybe, just to do something, she would get up and satisfy her hunger, but not with the food from the kitchen. No. She wanted to go Billy's.
"Hey Johnny, do you wanna be awesome and drive me down to Billy's Diner?" she asked her brother, with a half innocent look on her face. The only answer she got was something along the lines of, 'not really, why don't you just walk?' Annamarie was debating asking her sister for a ride when she realized that she was at work. "Wanna drive me to..." she was thinking of a place to go, but then her brother just shook his head and cut her off with one of his excuses for not taking her. Annamarie really didn't want to walk, but she wasn't about to ask her parents for a ride because she knew what their answer would be; 'No, just eat something here, save your money, blah, blah, blah.'
"Mom, I'm gonna go down to Billy's for fries," she called as she put on her black Emu's. Her outfit consisted of flannel pajama pants, a white cammi, and a grey sweatshirt. Her hair was in a ponytail. She looked at herself, using a window as a mirror, and figured that she didn't look horrible. She was just going there to get fries, it wasn't like it was a date or anything. Annamarie tucked a ten dollar bill in one of her shoes and left once she got an 'okay, hurry soon,' from her mom.
It really wasn't that far of a walk to the diner, so when she entered, she smiled. It wasn't too crowded, but it wasn't too empty. There were just enough people for her to casually blend in with little mind or notice by anyone else. "Can I please have an order of small spicy fries?" she kindly spoke to the man behind the counter. When he told her how much it was, she bent over and took out the ten. The man didn't seem to care much for her actions having realized she didn't have pockets. He gave her her change and the number she was, while she went and got a seat by the window.
Not long after, her number was called and she took the order of fries back to her designated spot. As she put some ketchup on the side, she began to dip the curly fries and eat them daintily. She watched the going-ons outside and couldn't help but eavesdrop into a few conversations here and there. Other than what she did though, Annamarie was just another teen in Billy's enjoying their order.

I’M CHASING TIME, LOOKING FOR A BEAT open your eyes and repeat after me- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Saturday had to be his favorite day of the week, it was a day when he could do whatever he wanted, without having to worry about school, chores, studying or even about the homework that needed to be done by Monday. Of course Sunday was a weekend day too, but Sundays were always boring and there was always homework and papers that he hadn’t done the previous two days, yeah, he wasn’t a big fan of Sundays, but Saturday was a different story, he always had something fun to do on Saturdays, and that day wasn’t different. Actually it started like any other; he slept until a bit past nine, and would have slept more if he didn’t have to be at his friend’s by ten, and after taking a quick shower and getting ready to eat something before leaving. By the time he got to the kitchen there was no one there, he knew his father probably had already had breakfast, but he couldn’t tell where his siblings were, those kids seemed to disappear inside the house sometimes, and so he pour himself some juice and bowl of cereal, when he was done he put everything on the sink and grabbed his coat. And only when his hand was already on the door handle he remembered to let his father know he was going out. “I’m going over to Joe’s, dad,” he said and left without waiting for his father answer. He must had heard, right? No one could say he had left without saying.
Winter wasn’t completely gone and it was obvious by the weather, Knox was definitely happy to have his coat on him, the streets still showed some signs of the snow that had fallen the previous night, but he didn’t mind the wet feeling on his shoes. His friend’s house wasn’t far away from his, it was on a walking distance and if it weren’t for the wet streets he could easily have gotten there even faster with the help of his board, but that wasn’t the case. He didn’t mind walking though, he had his ipod with him and it was all he needed, he was used to walking anyway, he didn’t particularly enjoy having to ask his dad for a ride whenever he needed to go out. He could not wait to get his license. Less than twenty minutes later Lennox was arriving on his destination and his friends were already there and ready for a street hockey match. Most of the day was spent like that, playing hockey, video games, and just being boys. It was just what he needed to start his weekend on a good pace. And time flew when he was there, but it wasn’t always like that when you were having fun? Next time Knox checked his watch it was already way past five and he knew he should start getting home if he didn’t want his father to be on his case about it. “Dude, I’m going,” he told his friend, but before going home they decided to hit Billy’s and grab something to eat.
Billy’s was a classic among his friends, if you needed to grab a bite that was the place you would go. They had great food, as unhealthy as possible and the price was good enough for unemployed students just like Lennox. The four boys were quick to go to the counter and get their food, Knox went with a burger, some fries and a drink. He wasn’t paying attention to anything other than the conversation he was holding with his friends, he was sure everyone else could hear the laughs coming from their booth, but they didn’t care. The boy stopped for a second and averted his eyes to the counter just as a very well known dark head went to gather her food, he watched as Annamarie went back to her table and quickly finished his own food and said goodbye to his friends before going to sit with his friends. “Whattup, Anna?” He asked sitting next to her and stealing one of her fries. “What’s good in town today?” He added. He had heard about some party, but he wasn’t sure if he was gonna go, he was only a freshman and he was sure his father wouldn’t like the idea when the last time he went to a party with the older crowd he got home completely wasted, but if he really wanted to he could always find a way.

Anna was enjoying the extra noise she heard around her. Many voices buzzed, some louder than others, and occasionally interrupted by a laugh. She didn't mind the fact that she was there alone, well, not completely. A friend to talk to wouldn't be horrible, but this was the kind of place that you didn't need friends to feel comfortable - it was simply better that way. Ah well, she didn't really care. Annamarie could be her own friend sometimes and watching some of the groups of friends she was proud to be able to do that. She didn't want to be like those kids in the corner painting their nails black and frowning about how their lip ring wasn't matching the eyebrow piercing they had. That just wasn't Annamarie. There were other groups that she wouldn't want to be part of too, in the diner of course, but that was the group that stuck out.
Then out of nowhere, Lennox Finnley showed up and stole a french frie. "Hey," she said brightly, and then changed it more of a 'scolding' tone, "Hey, no stealing my fries." She looked in the direction he had come from, and found that his group of friends were there. She gave them a bit of a smile having known a few of them. Annamarie wasn't the type that was embaressed to be seen with younger classmen, after all, who really cared? Sometimes their classes were even mixed too. She had known Knox most of her life anyway, so it wasn't anything awkward. "Eh, nothing really," she admitted with a bit of a sigh. Wtih a smile though, she lit up and informed him easily, "I had my dance recital show thing today. Nailed my solo. What about you?" While waiting for an answer she picked at her fries once more, suddenly regretted not getting a drink. Annamarie took out the extra change she had from her when she bought her fries. She had just enough for a soda. Annamarie could wait though, she didn't want to get up and interrupt him.
